Payne
Allie Ashby Payne, 84, of Flint Hill died June 4. Born in Culpeper November 13, 1889, he was the son of the late John L. Payne and Mary Hackley Payne. He was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Survivors include five sons, John, Robert, Charles and Albert Payne, all of Front Royal, and Willie B. Payne of Flint Hill; six daughters, Mrs. Henry Fincham and Mrs. Fannie Thomas, both of Front Royal, Mrs. Lewis Reynolds, Lanham, Md., Mrs. Lyle Barbe, Lorton, Mrs. Wilson Fincham and Miss Ella Payne, both of Flint Hill; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Norman Payne of Huntly and Robert Payne of Culpeper, and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Noakes of Washington, D. C.
A funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Flint Hill United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Malcolm Maples. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Maddox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and the body will be placed in the church an hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Henry and Robert Fincham, William and Sherman Thompson, Bruce and Rodney Payne.□
