There appears to be no sentiment in the legislature for increases in taxes for the major sources of state revenue, which are individual and corporate income taxes and sales tax, and I certainly agree with this sentiment. Right now, corporate and individual tax collections are down from the estimated figures and sales tax collections have increased but this increase is .probably due to inflation and it may not continue.
Final action on the budget will probably come at the end of the session. The legislative adjournment date is uncertain; it will probably be during the second or third week of February. Next week I will have another legislative report on the 1975 General Assembly.
