‘‘But somebody has got to see some plans for this thing,” Planning Commission chairman Herbert Barksdale said. Barksdale was reflecting the opinion stated at the earlier meeting by the zoning appeals board members, as well as that of his fellow planning commissioners. They all wanted Weil to present a more specific program of his plans for the ski area.
Weil didn’t think this was the stage for such a requirement. At this point, he only wanted to obtain the use permit which would grant him certain uses. The site plan would come later, he said.
Newbill Miller said he’d be ready to oppose the use permit request, if Weil didn’t present ‘‘the total picture.”
George Muth, a member of the zoning appeals board which grants use permits, said “we want a detailed plan. Not a page with just a block, saying this will be here.”
“WE’VE already spent $3,000 on planning for this. How much more specific do you want us to get,” Weil complained, noting all this costs would go down the drain
