James Jarvis of Gainesville was fatally injured in a traffic crash early Sunday morning which occurred on Route 211 at Hillsdale, .8 mile east of Massies Corner about 1:10 a.m. Jarvis was coproprietor of Lom-Bar-Dy Restaurant at Amissville which he operated with Evelyn Williams, also of Gainesville.

Jarvis was a passenger in a car, a ‘67 Mercury, driven by Frederick Vincent Barnes of Alexandria, according to Trooper Charles Moore. Jarvis died of multiple injuries including a brain concussion and fractured hip. Barnes sustained a severely lacerated left arm with nerve damage.
