firemen elect
Officers were elected for the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department at the August 6 meeting of this group. Donald Gore was named president of the group with Charles Woodward in the position of chief.
Elected as first and second assistant chiefs were Jimmy Swindler and Eddie Gore, respectively and Rickie Lillard accepted the role of captain. Donald Gore is also the treasurer with Jimmy Swindler acting secretary also.
Steve Leake was named lieutenant with Donald Carroll as engineer and the Rev. Ronald Wiley will be chaplain. Directors are Donald Gore, Charles Woodward, James W. Fletcher, Roy Leake and Jimmy Swindler.
Delegates to the county fire association will be Donald Gore and Charles Woodward with alternates Rickie Lillard and Jimmy Swindler Jr.D
