Sandra Gray of Cumberland, Md. was traveling east from Panorama on Route 211 when her brakes failed. She attempted to jump from the car and her clothing caught on the side of the car and the rear wheel passed over her, according to Trooper J. A. Watson.
A rear end collision occured September 1 in front of the local high school on Route 211. Lloyd Eyster of Stewardstown, Pa. driving a 71 Oldsmobile was struck from behind by a 63 Ford operated by Charles Lamb of Wolftown. Lamb was cited for following too close.
Two local motorists meeting on a secondary road collided September 2. Richard Weakley of Sperryville driving a 67 Pontiac was struck by Cynthia Cumins, also of Sperryville, in a 68 Ford. She was charged with failure to keep to the right of the road by Trooper Watson. □
