THE CULPEPER Bicentennial Commission is sponsoring a combined house tour and colonial crafts display to be held on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. A cooperative venture of several county garden clubs, mens’ service organizations, and church groups, the tour is called “A Remembered Past.”
Five private homes will be on the tour with adult admission set at $3 for a block ticket. Student tickets will be $1. Individual homes may be visited for $1. Three 18thCentury historic buildings in the county will also be open to the public at no charge. These include the Burgandine House, Little Fork Church, and “Salubria.”
Homes on the tour include “Greenwood/’ residence of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Green; “Pleasant Hill,” the James Dyer home in Rixeyville; “The Home Place,” belonging to Col. and Mrs. Willaim M. Kasper in Jeffersonton; T.C. Lea, Jr.’s home “Raeburn,” and “Allaway Farm,” the retirement home of Gen. and Mrs. A.J. Boyle.
