OF RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY I, MARILYN MERRILL BAILEY, am a candidate for the office of COMMISSIONER of REVENUE, Rappahannock County. I am a native of Rappahannock County. My father is L. V. Merrill, owner of Merrill Motor Company, Washington, Virginia. I am married to Leon L. Bailey and have four children, Stephen, age 26, Nina, 23, Mark 16, and Jonathan, 7 years. All my children have attended public school in Rappahannock County. sr* After attending public school at Washington High School, I was graduated from Anderson College, Preparatory Department, Anderson, South Carolina. I also earned a certificate in Industrial Drawing there and received the Art Award for the year. Later I went back to school and attended Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio for two years. I also studied accounting at Ohio University for one year. I have worked for a number of years as a Ford Dealer accountant and received an “Award for excellence in the field of accounting” from Ford.Motor Company in ‘63, ‘64, and ‘65. My primary interest in running for office is to provide the voters with an alternative candidate, an option that rarely exists in our county. My goal, if elected, is to provide all taxpayers with friendly, helpful assistance and to comply with all the duties of the office of Commissioner of Revenue as set forth in the Code of Virginia, Title 58, Taxation. I feel that I am competent to perform these duties well. Thank you for your consideration. MARILYN MERRILL BAILEY Paid Political Advertisement By the authority of the candidate.
