Matthew Dean Hitt of Amissville was involved in a single vehicle crash on Route 211 just after midnight Saturday. He was driving a 64 Volkswagen traveling west when he lost control, struck a culvert and turned over. Hitt sustained multiple lacerations of the face. He was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital and transferred to the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, according to Trooper R.A. Baines, who said charges are pending.
Dabney Eastham of Flint Hill struck a deer early Sunday morning on Route 522 near Huntly. Minor damage to his vehicle resulted and the animal was killed, said Trooper Baines.
