Franklin D. Kizer, State Supervisor of Science and Recruiting Officer for the Virginia Youth Conservation Corps program has announced that applications are being accepted for the 1976 program. To be eligible for the workstudy environmental science program, students must be between ages 15 and 18. Jointly sponsored by both federal and stage agencies, the program runs from June 20, 1976 through August 20, 1976 at camps located in the national forests and in national and state parks.
Persons selected for the program will study ecology and conservation under the direction of competent instructors and resource personnel. Among the areas to be studied will be the manner in which our nation’s natural resources are used. The work conditions are projects in which the students will be involved are designed to provide service to the sponsoring agencies and important training for themselves.
