CHIEF Forest Warden Clifton W. Jenkins of Rappahannock County has named the men who have been .appointed as County Forest Wardens for 1976. These men will assist in the prevention and control of forest and brush fires in Rappahannock County. Warden Jenkins says “these men are public spirited and want to help out during times of forest fire emergency.” They answer calls for help from the Virginia Division of Forestry, and are relied on heavily during extended periods of high fire danger.
Volunteer Fire Companies are a major forest fire fighting force in the County, Chief Forest Warden Jenkins.continued. “Beinglocated in several communities throughout the County, they respond rapidly and frequently suppress a fire while it is small thereby saving untold acreage of forest land from possible damage.”
