BURNING LAWS ARE NOW IN EFFECT—PLEASE OBSERVE
Flint Hill fire department answered calls to six field or brush fires February 28, three in the Huntly area-the Bozelle property, Dawsons, and Bowser Williams; one at Raymond Sutphin’s farm on Rt. 729 and two calls to Amissville. Washington Fire department also answered calls to Amissville on February 28. February 27 the unit put out a trash and grass fire at Samuel Caldow’s in Peyton Farms and on the 29th they answered a call to a chimney fire at the home of Gilbert Cameron in Washington. Flint Hill responded Wednesday morning to a dumpster fire at Huntly.
The Washington Rescue Squad transported Mrs. Alice Verner from Culpeper Memorial to her home in Washington February 26.
Sperryville Rescue Squad answered a call to an auto accident on 211 west of Washington and carried Della Gatewood to Warren Memorial the 28th. Sunday, February 29 Rene Carpenter of Arlington was carried from Alson
