NEW MEMBERS welcomed to the planning district commission were Mrs. Kate White of Culpeper, Stevenson Mcllvaine of Fauquier, and Edwards of Orange. Warrenton Town Manager Ed Brower presided at the opening of the meeting, until the election of Luke as chairman. Luke was elected by a 6 to 4 vote over Robert Miller of Culpeper. Named vice chairman, unanimously was Stan Haworth of Warrenton, and Miller was named secretary-treasurer. .
Dr. R.S. LeGarde, regional Health Officer, appeared to recommend consumer and provider representatives on the district’s health planning steering committee. They are Dr. George Broman of Culpeper, William Green of Fauquier, Mrs. Charlotte Towns of Orange, Col. Luke and Mrs. Francis Phillips of Culpeper.
John Jones, criminal justice planner, presented his 1976 plan for the district, placing a number one priority on “basic, in-service training for deputies.’’
John Kirsch of the Water Control Board staff appeared to explain Public Law 208 water quality management ^regulations. He stated that he did not feel Planning District 9 qualifies as a 208 district, since the requirements describe mostly urban areas with severe quality problems.—Ray DUley
