NINE races were scheduled, but eleven were run because of the large number of entries. First on the card was the pair race which was won by the Marlborough Hunt team of Charles Owens on Sure Move and Hannah Owens on Mr. Tap Dancer.

Second, third and fourth place finishers were all from Rappahannock Hunt. Oliver Brown on his Stuart’s Mill and Barbara Lane, riding Flamingo, were second, while Kevin Smithgall on Miss Liza G. Bars and Moody Aylor on Mr. Clean were third. Fourth was the team of Michael Marsh on Bob Riddley and William Warshauer riding Minnesota Fats;

With 22 altered, the Double Gate Turf Race, was split. D.M. Smithwick’s Babeen, with Tommy Voss aboard, led to the stretch of the three-fourths mile race, but he was overtaken by the winner, Jennifer Youngman on her Doc Hebb, a winner last week, too. Second was James Wyatt’s Tangerine, G. E. Hoover up, followed by Babeen.

In the second division, Larmonde Stables’s Evergreen, Anthony Price riding, and Mike Adams on his Schoodish, fought it out, with Schoodish hitting the finish line on top. Third was Larry Lee Hew’s Edison, ridden by Jeff LeHew.
