Several interested citizens and parents of students attending and participating in athletics at Rappahannock County High School have expressed concern as to the extremely poor condition of the basketball scoreboard.
The present scoreboard has structural damage and efforts to repair these damages have been totally unsuccessful. Inquiry was made as to the cost of a new board and we find this to be approximately $1,800. Obviously, the Rappahannock High School Athletic Department has no funds with which to purchase the scoreboard and unless we gain contributions throughout the entire County, a new board will be impossible.
Thus far we have been very fortunate in receiving contributions from a small number of interested and generous people; however, we do need the support of the entire County to reach our goal.
We appeal to you, the citizens and parents of our County, to help our young people and our school by contributing to this extremely worthwhile cause. Athletic events are an important part of any school and we personally feel that it
