Payne
George William Payne, 69, of Washington died October 15, 1976 following a heart attack while working in Sperryville.
Mr. Payne was a painter and a carpenter. He was the son of the late George William and Annie Fincham Payne. He was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of the Washington Baptist Church.
Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Virginia Racer Payne; five brothers, Luther Payne of Washington, Warren Payne of Richmond, Jack Payne of Gordonsville, Lee Payne of Woodville and Fred Payne of Culpeper; three sisters, Miss Gladys Payne of Washington, Mrs. Aileen Jenkins of Orange and Mrs. Annie Jenkins of Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Washington Baptist Church, with burial in Washington Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. William R. Snead conducted the services with the Rev. Ronald Wiley assisting.
