If Rappahannock decides to go forward with the idea of an addition, the report- maintained that the county “should emb&rk on the planning process” and hire a professional architect, working closely with the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission. Any proposed addition should be done with respect for the existing design of the old Court House and should be compatible in materials and scale, the report concluded.
Rappahannock is under no obligation to accept any of the proposals outlined in the report and may decide to adopt part, none or all of the recommendations. Whatever decision is made, the National Clearing House volunteered continued help in reviewing any programs and plans.—Daphne McCullough □
