The Acteens, sponsored by die WMU of Amissville Baptist Church, have been involved in missionary work in the church and community. Each of the members completed 16 projects to become Acteen Queens and two girls completed 32 projects to become Queen with a Scepter. Lisa Priest, left and Beverly Lawrence, right were recipients of the scepter; others are Becky Stirman, Pam Settle, Donna Stover, Edie Hackley, Brenda Lawrence and Sharon Settle. At the recognition service held March 20 the girls were escorted to the altar by their fathers as flower girls dropped petals in the aisle. The theme of the program was “Jewels of the Kingdom” and a piano duet by the Hallelujah Chorus by Pam Settle and Donna Cannon completed the program. Mrs. J.S. Stirman is the Acteen leader and Mrs. Charlie Priest assists.
