Wreck

Two motorists were injured in an afternoon collision, on Route 211 just west of Amissville Tuesday. According to Trooper R.A. Baines, Lawrence Suddith of Warrenton and Janice Jolliffe of Culpeper were involved.

Suddith was operating a 1974 Plymouth when he lost control, swerved into the westbound lane striking another vehicle head-on. Janice Jolliffe was driving a 76 Datsun which was totaled in the wreck, said the officer.

Suddith sustained multiple lacerations of the forehead and legs, broken ribs and a concussion. Ms. Jolliffe’s injuries included a compound fracture of the left knee, fractured and dislocated right ankle and severe concussion, according to Trooper Baines, who said charges are pending.□

The Ladies Auxiliary of Washington Fire Company will have an Easter Bake Sale this Saturday, April 9, at the Country Store from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. A selection of baked goods will be offered for holiday enjoyment.
