Cindy's also spent hours working on plans for Vacation Bible School and other things that don’t relate directly to youngsters. “I’m helping now with visitation, prayer and scripture at church services,” she said.
But her big challenge conies August 13 when she’ll preach the sermon at a special youth service. Members of the newly organized youth group will also take part—selecting hymns, reading scripture, collecting the offering. “They’re going to be doing the whole thing,” said Cindy.
Since coming to Rappahannock County last month, Cindy has moved from home to home, staying a week at a time with Washington Baptist Church families. Her days have been divided among families with young children, older couples, and families with teenagers. She’s seen much of the county and likes what she’s seen, especially the town of Washington. “It’s small, a lot like my home. It’s right in the middle of nowhere but it has its own little personality. It has quaintness and quietness.”
