At the end of August, Cindy will return to James Madison to continue her studies as a communications major. “I’ll be trying to get into the Field of journalism—probably,” she added.
Although she plans to attend a Baptist Seminary and expects to be involved in Christian work, Cindy said she wasn’t sure she wanted the Master of Divinity degree that would enable her to preach.
“I’ll probably get a degree in either journalism or English. There are all kinds of fields where I can work in religious education—writing newsletters or books, all different areas in the church that communications are involved in.” If she chooses English, she said, she’ll also try to gain certification as a teacher. “Then I’d have a wider background. With a degree to teach, I can always fall back on that.” But whatever course Cindy decides to follow, she plans to be fully prepared. Then, she said, “I’ll see where God leads me."
