Burke
Bryant Burke, 67, a retired policeman in Luray, died February 20, 1979 in Margate, Fla., where he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Sue Carol Moyer.
He was born May 13, 1911 at Washington, Va., a son of the late Joshua Emmanuel and Ada Virginia Fincham Burke.
He joined the Luray Police Department in 1948 and was employed as an officer more than 20 years. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Anna Belle Fox. Besides his daughter, he is survived by four grandchildren; a brother, Ora M. Burke of Front Royal and four sisters, Mrs. Annie McHaffey of Wisconsin; Mrs. Ada May Coppage of Warrenton, Mrs. Reba B. Coppage of Rixeyville and Mrs. Gertie Gatterbuck of Sperryville.
A memorial service was conducted Thursday at the Kraeer Funeral Home in Margate.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Bradley Funeral Home conducted' by the Rev. Ralph Hoffmeyer. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery, Luray.
