Fincham
Funeral services for William James Fincham of Orange were held Saturday, February 24, at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Fincham, 61, died February 21, 1979 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late James William Fincham and the late Mamie Whorton. He was a painter.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Whorton Fincham, three sons, James William Fincham, Franklin Hughes Fincham and Gary Douglas Fincham, all of Orange, two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Ann Cox of Orange and Mrs. Carolyn Lee Grimsley of Warrenton; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Fincham of Washington, Va., Davis Fincham and Robert Fincham, both of Aroda; and a half-brother. Buck Fincham of Baltimore, Md.
Scott
Mrs. Bessie Ellen Scott of Akron, Ohio, a former resident of Laurel Mills, Rappahannock County, died February 23, 1979 in Akron. She was the widow of Moffett Reid Scott.
Daughter of the late Amon Peyton and the late Daisy C. Tharp, she was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Charles H. Scott of Akron; two grandchildren, Mrs. Barbara Ann Jarvis of Anaheim, Calif, and Charles H. Scott, Jr. of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, Eddie Peyton of Ben Venue and George Peyton of Culpeper; and a sister, Mrs. Ethyl Johnson of Jackson, Mich. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens near Jeffersonton, conducted by the Rev. Floyd T. Binns.
