Pea Picking Cake

1 Golden yellow cake mix

1 can mandarin oranges with juice (small)

4 eggs

1 Vi cups cooking oil

Beat all ingredients together until well blended. Use 3 greased cake pans or one sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 25 minutes.

Filling

1 large Cool Whip

1 can crushed pineapple with juice (large can)

1 small box vanilla instant pudding.

Combine pineapple, juice and Jello pudding; fold into Cool Whip. Spread between layers and on top of already cooled cake. If using sheet pan just spread on top. Refrigerate overnight.

Opera Scenes

Dr. Donald Wiggins will conduct members from the School of Music, Catholic University of America in a program of opera scenes on April 21 at the Washington School Auditorium at 8 p.m.

Dr. Wiggins, currently a member of the voice and opera faculty at the school, was previously resident tenor on the faculty of the State University of New York. He has also served on the faculties of Wofford College, Converse College and the Brevard Music Center,
