The Sperryville Rescue Unit transported Larry Shifflett of New Market from an auto accident March 29 west of Sperryville to the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. April 3 the same unit took Carroll Quaintance from his home in Sperryville to Dr. Quaintance’s office in Culpeper then back home.
Washington Fire Company on March 20 responded to a mountain brush fire on Route 231 at the Metzinger property and on the 23rd they answered a call to a woods fire at the property of Annie Starks. A fire in the kitchen at William Estes’ house on Rt. 628 required their attention on March 29.
On March 30 the Washington Company was called to a woods fire on Rt. 627 in the Battle Run area and April 3 this unit responded to a house fire on Rt. 211 at Washington.
