To Sod Mall
A local fanner has become involved with agricultural protests held in the nation's capital but only after the fact.
J. L. Kidwell, a turf farmer from Culpeper, is the successful low bidder on providing the sod necessary to restore the mall area in Washington, D. C. The mall was extensively damaged during the farmers’ protest held earlier this year.
Kidwell Turf Farms is already fulfilling a contract with the Department of the Interior to supply and install turf on areas that have been worn out by tourist traffic in the Washington area each year. The contract is awarded annually on a low bid basis.
The contract for restoration of the mall area will be issued as soon as officials from the Department of Interior inspect the turf to be supplied, according to J. L. Kidwell.
