Burke
Kirkwood G. Burke, 64, a former Arlington plumbing and heating contractor, died March 20 at his home in Amissville after a heart attack.
Mr. Burke was born in Amissville and moved to Arlington as a boy. He returned to Amissville four years ago.
For 40 years he had been a member of First Baptist Church, Clarendon, where he had been chairman of deacons, superintendent of the young people’s department and a teacher in the boy’s and men’s classes.
He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a Mason.
After returning to Amissville Mr. Burke was a deacon and Bible class teacher in the Amissville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Hazel S. Burke, Amissville, a daughter Barbara B. Lewis, Arlington, a son Kirk Bradley Burke and a brother Conway Burke, both of Amissville, three grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
