The First Baptist Church In Front Royal was the setting for the marriage of Miss Betty Jane Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lee of Flint Hill, to Dennis Ray Grove of Front Royal, on Saturday, June 14, 1980. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Mary Sealock and the late Roy Marvin Grove, and the step-son of William Sealock.
The Rev. John P. Oliver performed the two o’clock ceremony before an altar decorated with an arrangement of blue, yellow and white daisies and baby’s breath, lighted candelabra and palms.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white organza featuring an empire bodice, with Queen Anne neckline encircled with Venice lace, and the long, sheer sleeves ending with wide lace cuffs. The softly flowing skirt was fashioned with circular panels accented with matching lace. The hemline was edged with lace and swept to a chapel train.
Her elbow length veil of white illusion was attached to a Camelot cap covered with matching lace and her flowers were a cascade of white carnations, daisies and baby’s breath.
Mrs. Joan Spence of Harrisonburg was matron of honor for her sister. Her formal gown of light blue print polyester was designed with a fitted bodice and flared skirt. A sheer capelet was attached to the scooped neckline and sash ties accented the waistline. She wore a white picture hat and carried a nosegay of blue, yellow and white daisies and baby’s breath held with blue and white ribbons.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Sharon Steward, the bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. Donna Knox and Mrs. Rae Wines, all of Front Royal. Their gowns were identical to that of the honor attendant
