The 1980 Citizenship Award was presented Tiffany Clouser of Warrenton and Jerry Smith of Winchester. Chris White, also of Winchester. received the AllAround Boy Award and Donna Funk of Front Royal earned distinction as AllAround Girl.
Students distringuishing themselves in academic areas were Denis Dierig who received the Science Award; Amelie von Ludwig, the Mathematics Award; Scotty Reid, History Award and Sid Rothrock for Creative Writing.
Awards were presented to students with the highest average and performance in the foreign languages.
Recipients of the Greek Award were James Dawson and Amelie von Ludwig; the Latin Award went to Robin Printz. Christopher Ingle, and Michael White. This year’s French Award was given to Ophelia von Ludwig, Scotty Reid and Robin Printz. Daniel Clark earned the Spanish Award, and the German Award went to John Vanderzon.
John Vanderzon also achieved distrinction as the best boy athlete; Paige Cather was presented with the Girls’ Athletics Award; Dramatics Award went to Sarah Haynes; Ballet to Halimah Holliday; Music to Susan Seal; Art to Gretchen
