The effects of those budgets is slowly making its way to local offices. Only the county social services departments are reporting memos from their state offices.
According to a memo from state Social Services Commissioner Larry Jackson, new federal money will replace funds lost to the 6-percent cuts. The governor’s word on the subject will not come down until Jan. 8 with the presentation of the budget and the State of the * Commonwealth address.
