Edward F. Clatterbuck of Arlington, Va. killed an albino deer in Gid Brown Hollow in December. As far as is known this deer is the first of its kind killed in the county.

Officials for Rappahannock
County elected in November have been sworn in and assumed duties the first day of the year. The Board of Supervisors will hold the first meeting of the s new year today (Thureday). Mrs. Virginia D. Smith, newly elected to the post of Commissioner of the Revenue, has selected Mrs. Merle Scoggin as her deputy. Everett Estes of Washington has been selected by incoming Sheriff John Walker Jenkins as his deputy and Jonas Alther will remain as Jail Custodian for the county. Ray Jackson remains, also, as an unpaid deputy; Mrs. Dorothy Leake of Sperry ville will continue as secretary for the Sheriffs department and for the Commonwealth’s Attorney George H. Davis Jr. who continues in this office.
