Mrs. Hartsook was born Oct. 31, 1902 at Somerset, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Berta B. Gilmore. She was a graduate of Mary « Washington College in Fredericksburg and taught school at Montpelier in Madison County. She later graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Richmond and became supervisor of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. After moving to Front Royal, she was a nurse at Randolph-Macon Academy and was affiliated with the Warren Memorial ' Hospital for more than 20 years. Following retirement, she continued nursing in private duty care.
She was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church, the Kings Daughters, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 6, Warren County Heritage Society, the Golden Girls Bridge Club and the Alumni Association of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Granville Smith HartsookJr.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Gehringer of Flint Hill; a sister, Mae Virginia Kent of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Victor R. Williams, Harry Koepper, Robert D. Lane, W.H. Rawley, C. Jack Athey, John J. Myers, Robert B. Rust, Fred Hazelette and Teofilo A. Puray.
Honorary pallbearers were Nell Boemer, Babe Clark, Hazel Parrish, Ruth Monnington, Helen Marchi, Louise Rawley and Jean Driggs.
A memorial service was conducted Friday, Dec. 27 at the Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Order of the Eastern Star.

Floyd Bernard LeSueur, 87, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, Dec. 26.
He was a retired minister and an administrator of Virginia Baptist Homes, Inc. He was a graduate of Bluefield College, University of Richmond and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. In 1970 the University of Richmond bestowed on him an honorary doctorate degree. Dr. LeSueur was pastor at Calvary, Lael, North Pamunkey, Ringgald and Zion Baptist Churches.
