Mr. McCarthy said Lord Fairfax Community College would be asking the supervisors for an additional $7,300 for building the campus in Warrenton. He said the supervisors should decide whether they want to support that or an equal amount for the Middletown campus for a chemistry building.
Members asked him to get information on how many Rappahannock students attend each campus.
During the evening session the supervisors approved special exceptions for Charles Racer for a second house on a 58-acre lot and Donald Brown to subdivide a 51-acre parcel into one lot of 8.58 acres and the other of 43 acres. Mr. Brown’s mother lives on the larger parcel.
They also approved amendments to the county code to include the parking lots and roads around the schools in county roads that come under traffic law and amendments to the subdivision ordinance requiring hydrogeological testing for supplies of underground water for subdivisions
10 lots regardless of the lot size in residential and village areas and subdivisions of five or more lots when each lot is less than five acres.
The Planning Commission had recommended that that provision apply when dny lot was less than five acres, but the ad published in the paper did not say that. They adopted the amendments anyway and will readvertise to make the change recommended by the planners.
