Last Wednesday Rapp’s Vatsity Volleyball competed in a tournament in Madison. The team played four matches, one of which they won.
. Their first game was against Buffalo Gap. The team lost 15-3 and 15-2 in the second. After this the Panthers competed against Louisa and lost 15-6 and then 15-7.
. During the third match, which was against Orange County, Rapp won. Courtney Welch served second to tie the score 1-1. She was followed by Fran Overdorf who helped to get a 3-1 lead.
Orange got the ball back but didn’t score any points thanks to Katy Paratore who killed the return. Sarah Gentry served up three more points succeeded by Sherri Lillard who brought the team ahead 11-1.
Courtney Welch later made another point for the team. Fran also did the same. Orange however had begun to catch up. By this time the score was 13-9 in Rapp’s favor. Nancie Gallegos later served to bring the team to a close 15-10 victory.
During the second match Orange got a quick 5-0 lead. However CoUrtney and Nancie helped serve up four points for their team. Rapp scored no additional points after that and lost 15-4. . In the third and final game of the match Rapp fell behind 3 to 2. A few
