We have several postponements due to the blizzard over the weekend. Being fast of the I}lue Ridge Mountains here in Amissville, our snow totals were just under three feet; but we understand just west of the Blue Ridge they experienced just over three feet of snow.
It began snowing Saturday evening and did not cease until late Monday morning. The blizzard forced closing of major airports, schools, federal, state and local governments; virtually everything was paralyzed. It will probably be days before many are able to dig out from the numerous high snow drifts. We were so blessed . not to have the electric power go off.
The Amissville Homemakers Club meeting was postponed to Monday, Jan. 15 at Amissville Baptist Church.
The Health and Fitness Group was also postponed to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at Amissville United Methodist Church.
