changed since 1619, but the crucial issues that these patriots debated remain the same: government control versus the preservation of liberty, a growing reliance on bureaucratic regulations versus an unconditional trust of free people in a free society, and satisfaction with the status-quo versus a vision of our Commonwealth continuing to move forward.
Because this is an even-numbered year, the upcoming session will last sixty days. Undoubtedly, each one of those days will present new legislative opportunities and challenges for Virginia. As your representative in the House of Delegates, I am both excited and encouraged by the volume of well-thought, insightful, and innovative suggestions, ideas, apd approaches to the critical issues facing our Commonwealth.
