To make the application process more convenient, he said he would be available at the Rappahannock Extension Office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 7, 1999 to accept applications. The deadline to sign up for the program, he added, has been extended from Jan. 8, 1999 to Feb. 5, 1999.
“Feel free to call me,” Williamson said, “and I’ll be glad to help with specific questions.”
The assistance program, he said, is based on an individual’s number of livestock and acres of pasture. Furthermore, he said, the number of applicants across the state will determine how much will be awarded to each applicant.
Another disaster assistance program is available for crops including apples and row crops such as com and soybeans.
