It got cold, really cold, for the first time last week, and the snow-making machines were cranked up at the Rappahannock Ski Area. Only a few hard core ski fans and a snowmobile were around for opening day at Rappahannock Ski Area last Friday, but the lower half of the main slope was ready, with three feet of man-made snow.
