Sperryville. In the afternoon the group were luncheon guests of Mrs. Eunice Meade in Culpeper and were joined by Linda Weakley and Gary Meadows of Standardsville and Kenny Leavell and son Cody of Culpeper.
Mrs. Frazier and Mrs. Atkins were overnight guests of Mrs. Meade and on Saturday Mrs. Atkins spent the night with her niece Miss Brenda Frazier and mother in Culpeper.
Gene Hitt, a former resident of Castleton and employee of the town of Culpeper received a 30 year service pin award at their recent awards banquet held at Lakeside Clubhouse.
Lindsay and Sarah Peyton, students at Emerald Hill School were among those honored by the Optimist Club at their recent Youth Appreciation Ceremony.
We’re happy to see Franklin Hitt out and improving from his recent stay in the hospital.
So far we have only a small list of those from our area who have gotten a deer and the season is nearly over. Congratulations to Michael W. Frazier, William Strother and Ray Frazier.
