Hard on the heels of the July 2 approval of amendments to the County’s telecommunications ordinance by the Board of Supervisors, Sprint PCS submitted its second “Application for Personal Wireless Service Facilities Use Permits” on July 27, 2001.
This version of Sprint PCS’ cell tower application is radically different from their first attempt, and appears 4to represent a concerted effort to respond both to Rappahannock residents’ strenuous objections to the design and siting of the towers in the first go-round and to the recently approved amendments to the telecommunications ordinance that promote facilities that are less obtrusive.
