R.H. Ballard Fine Art in it’s continuing presentation of emerging local and national artist, is proud to present the paintings of Barbara Heile Sherwood from Aug. 18 through Sept. 9.
An opening reception with the artist will take place Saturday, Aug. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballard Art & Rugs, Sperryville. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
For this special occasion, R.H. Ballard Fine Art and Ms. Sherwood are pleased to be a sponsor of the Rappahannock Historic Resources Survey, and pledge to donate 20 percent of the opening day sales to this cause.
Living in the foothills of the Shenandoah Valley has been the inspiration of much of Sherwood’s oil paintings. Working in her studio and also en pleinaire, she enjoys capturing the subtleties and also the explosive power of light and color. Her methods and experience with oil painting can be best expressed in her own words:
