I am very concerned about the safety of the people of Rappahannock County.
The first and most pressing issue is the lack of medical and fire personnel available to meet the resident’s needs. I volunteer in the fire department as a cardiac technician and have a good working knowledge of how long it takes EMS and fire personnel to respond to calls, and how few people are available.
The time delay and lack of personnel is unacceptable. I spoke to a woman recently who waited over 20 minutes for a fire truck to arrive as her house burnt to the ground. God forbid someone is not breathing or injured traumatically0
