Humphries who Dixon says, “delivered a lot of babies in the Amissville area over the years.” Dr. Humphries not only lived there but practiced medicine in the home she said. Dr. Humphries had a son, Robert, also a doctor, who was bom in the house in 1909 and died at the age of 92 only two years ago.
