If the homeowner had called 911 instead of trying to fight the fire for 15 minutes we may have been able to save more. Remember that in an emergency, time is the enemy. Fire doubles in size every minute, and you cannot survive without breathing for more than six minutes.
To help first responders, learn CPR, post your 911 address so it can be read from the road, make sure your smoke detectors are working, and volunteer your help with local responders.
Surely Mr. Raiford understands how important time is in an emergency, and therefore how crucial professional dispatching is to fire and rescue.
We are trying to solve existing problems, improve performance, and save lives. I don’t see how sniping about personalities, and gossiping about politics helps.
