Mr. Raiford makes a point correctly that neither Jack Atkins or myself has law enforcement experience, but the point of the news article was about dispatching problems with fire/rescue. This is an issue that we are very experienced with, and we receive no compensation for our work as fire/rescue volunteers.
As for Mr. Raiford’s home that burned to the ground, I remember responding to that house on two occasions when it was on fire. The first fire was extinguished with very little damage sustained, the second fire some years later was reported to our station by a passerby. We responded with 15 firefighters, and arrived in three minutes. The rear house was on fire and ready to collapse. The main house was well involved with fire on the second floor, and attic.
