As the saga of Amy Hitt has unfolded across this rural county over the past two weeks, only one thing is clear, neither Mrs. Hitt’s life nor the Amissville Baptist Church will be the same.
Hitt and her supporters claim she was unfairly excluded from her church of six years as a common gossip because she worked to disclose the efforts of the pastor to use church funds to buy a house. Hitt said that she was never given a list of any other charges or any acts of gossip.
