Sailie* Morgan. 1‘rojtx't Dimlor of the Aging Toge*the*r Partne*rship, was acknowledges! for hor contributions in the* field of aging at the April 17 me*e*ting of the Aging Together Coordinating Council. Among those* honoring Ms. Morgan was Commissioner Linda Nablo of the Virginia Department for the Aging, who commented that Aging Together is one of the top three programs in Virginia working to address the needs of the growing aging population. “I look forward to working with and learning from Sailie, with her long and distinguished background in aging services.* she said.
Sailie joined the Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board in 1976 to establish the Area Agency on Aging in this area. At the time the program consisted of senior centers in each county. During her tenure aging services have expanded to include personal care, respite, adult day care*, transportation, home delivered meals, the Retired and Senior Volunteer IVogram and winterisation services.
In 1994. Sailie udded to her responsibilities the role of Director of Community Support. In this capacity she is directly responsible for programs serving seniors and people with disabilities including case* management, housing, and day support services. She has twice* serves! as Chair of the Virginia Association of Area Agencie*s on Aging am! serves! one* term as Chair of the Virginia State Mental Retardation Council She* is currently a me*mbe*r of the Culpe*pe*r Regional Hospital Foundation
