New high school
principal to be
announced today
Robert Chappell, Superintendent of Schools, is expected to announce today the name of a new principal for the Rappahannock County High School.
Some ' 32 applicants applied for the job and the field was narrowed down to four candidates.
Chappell and the personnel committee of the School Board interviewed the four candidates and recommended two finalists for the full School Board to interview.
The School Board conducted the interviews of the two candidates in closed session July 8 and reached consensus.
In open session the board voted to authorize the superintendent to make an offer of the position and to make an announcement at an appropriate time.
“We had four fine candidates and the two finalists are * ■excellent," said Chappell. “We , expect to make an announcement sometime Thursday, July 10."
