Hazzard County Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane never had it this good. Always chasin’ the General Lee - a beefed up 1969 Dodge Charger with a 440 under the hood - and the Duke boys with a miserly Plymouth.
That was then.
On Friday, Sheriff Connie Smith took delivery of two brand new 2009 Dodge Chargers - 5.7 Litre Hemi in the front - in Batman black, looking all muscle and without a shred of sympathy for lawbreakers.
About the only thing they might not be able to catch are the stable of those classic Chargers Ben “Cooter" Jones keeps in his garage up in the hollow.
