Asked by the Rappahannock News if the repairs could prevent either shutting off the water to the whole town or a catastrophic draining of the reservoir should the old main be breached during construction, town utility consultant, Don Hearl of ESS, said, Tm not prepared to say.”
Council member Sullivan tried to get the council to agree to the $38,000 estimated repair cost saying in essence that it was worth it citing costs to the town could be much greater if they took no action.
The council talked about this and then took no action. The item was continued until the next continuance of the meeting. In the mean time, it was unclear whether or not Critzer was going to be asked to come and figure the whole thing out.
